Key Responsibilities
Retail Management
- Manage the daily operations.
- Lead, train, supervise and motivate staff.
- Prepare staff rosters and allocate shifts.
- Deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer queries professionally.
- Drive sales and achieve profitability targets.
- Oversee pricing, merchandising and stock control.
- Order stock and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Check, reconcile and record daily cash-ups.
- Promote and market the business and identify opportunities to grow sales.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures.
Bookkeeping & Administration
- Process financial transactions accurately using Xero and/or Pastel.
- Record transactions in the correct journals and post them to the relevant ledger accounts.
- Assist with preparing and monitoring monthly budgets.
- Manage petty cash and perform reconciliations.
- Process supplier invoices and ensure payments are made timeously.
- Prepare customer invoices and statements and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Maintain accurate filing of financial records and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with accountants and auditors by providing the required financial information.
- Provide general administrative support as required.
Minimum Requirements
• Previous retail management experience is essential. • Experience in bookkeeping or a junior accounting role. • Experience working with Xero and/or Pastel (Xero experience will be advantageous). • Experience using Vend or a similar point-of-sale system will be advantageous. • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel. • Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills. • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. • High level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. • A valid driver's licence will be advantageous. • Must be physically fit and comfortable working in a hands-on retail environment that includes stock handling and supporting the day-to-day operations of the business.
