Our Client, an International Retail / FMCG Company, requires a Category Manager to join their Retail team and drive the growth and performance of convenience retail categories.
Job Description
- Develop and execute category management and sourcing strategies.
- Manage supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and supplier performance.
- Drive category profitability through assortment planning, promotions, and pricing strategies.
- Analyse market trends, consumer insights, and category performance data.
- Collaborate with dealers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to optimize product offerings and customer experience.
- Ensure product quality, compliance, and effective category execution across retail sites.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12
- Degree (NQF Level 7) in Marketing, Sales & Marketing, Business Management, or a related field (advantageous).
- Minimum 8 years' experience in FMCG, Category Management, Buying, or Retail Merchandising.
- Strong commercial, analytical, negotiation, and supplier management skills.
- Experience in category planning, promotions, and contract management.
- Willingness to travel and conduct site visits.
