We have an excellent opportunity for a Grocery Buyer for a national food retailer in Port Elizabeth
To executes category buying strategies through product selection, supplier negotiations, and pricing management to maximize sales and gross margins. They collaborate with marketing, supply chain, and store operations to ensure optimal product availability, value, and brand alignment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Procurement & Sourcing: Plan, select, and procure product ranges within assigned categories to hit financial targets.
- Supplier Management: Negotiate pricing, manage supplier relationships, review performance, and coordinate promotional deliveries.
- Range & Pricing Administration: Implement category ranges, set competitive pricing, and execute promotional strategies in line with corporate guidelines.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor sales reports, inventory levels, stock-on-hand, and shrinkage/loss reports
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric
- Relevant National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree would be advantageous
- Strong Computer skills - advanced Excel - SAP
- Prior buying experience in Food Retail environment

Market Related Salary
