We are looking for a friendly, energetic and reliable Retail Assistant to join a retail store in Franschhoek. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with customers, provide excellent service and assist with the smooth running of the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service
- Assist customers with product selection and general enquiries
- Operate the till and process cash and card transactions accurately
- Handle the petty cash and maintain accurate cash records
- Open and close the store when required
- Ensure the store is clean, neat and well presented
- Assist with stock control, merchandising and replenishing products
- Handle customer queries professionally
- Maintain a positive and welcoming shopping environment
- Follow store procedures and security requirements
Requirements
- Previous retail or customer service experience will be an advantage
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, energetic and approachable personality
- Reliable, trustworthy and responsible
- Comfortable working with cash and handling money
- Able to operate a point-of-sale system or till
- Well presented and professional
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible regarding working hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Fluent in English. Afrikaans will be an advantage
