Overview

We are a leading retail company with 70 speciality stores across South Africa and Namibia. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Retail Area Manager. This is a mid-level position reporting directly to the Manager: Retail Operations.

Remuneration & Travel Policy

Salary: Up to R28,000 CTC , depending on experience (includes a cell phone allowance).

Vehicle Provision: A company vehicle will be provided for shop visit trips. Alternatively, the employee will be remunerated for the use of their personal vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

Travel & Hands-On Shop Visits: Must be willing to travel to other provinces regularly to perform shop visits and enforce operational standards across the network. This is a highly "hands-on" role that requires resilience and stamina; you will be expected to put in long days on the floor alongside staff, conducting stocktakes to ensure our company checks and balances are maintained at the highest level.

Reconciliations: Ensure accurate financial reconciliations and reporting.

Problem-Solving: Address and resolve store-related issues promptly.

Employee Training: Conduct training sessions for employees to enhance their skills and productivity.

Stock Counts: Oversee and ensure accurate stock counts and inventory management.

Recruitment: Handle the advertising of positions and conduct interviews with potential candidates.

Delegation: Delegate tasks effectively to ensure efficient store operations.

Disciplinary Processes: Be willing to undergo training in handling disciplinary hearings, CCMA procedures, and attend to disciplinary issues as they arise.

After-Hours Support: Be available to work after-hours, attending to requests for assistance from shop assistants.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidate Profile: We are specifically seeking female candidates between the ages of 30 and 55 years for this position.

Bilingual Proficiency: Candidates MUST be fluent in both Afrikaans and English.

Education: Grade 12.

Experience: Experienced candidates with strong organizational and administrative skills are sought. Relevant retail area management or similar retail experience is highly valued.
