Resident Engineer Candidate Requirements
Takora Human Capital is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Resident Engineer for a road infrastructure project. The successful candidate will be required to work on-site full-time for the remaining duration of the project and will report directly to the Project Engineer.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Valid professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as either a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng). Registration is mandatory.
Minimum of 7 years' experience in road construction, including demonstrated experience as a Resident Engineer on road infrastructure projects.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of the General Conditions of Contract (GCC 2015).
Proven ability to manage full-time site supervision and contract administration.
Must have own reliable transport, as transport will not be provided.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise the Contractor's daily activities on site.
Administer contracts in accordance with GCC 2015.
Review and approve construction programmes, method statements and technical submissions.
Measure and certify completed work for monthly payment certificates.
Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
Identify and resolve site issues, Requests for Information (RFIs) and variations timeously.
Maintain accurate site records and compile regular site reports.
