Resident Engineer

Hire Resolve's client is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to oversee construction projects in Benoni, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, particularly working as a contractor, and a proven ability to manage site operations, ensure compliance with project specifications, and maintain quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and project timelines.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of the project.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure work meets required standards.
• Identify and resolve technical and site-related challenges in collaboration with the project team.
• Monitor and report on project progress, costs, and any deviations from the project plan.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations on-site.
• Provide engineering support and technical guidance to site teams.
• Review and approve technical documentation, drawings, and reports.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and other key stakeholders as needed.

Requirements

• BEng/BSc (Civil Engineering) or BTech (Civil Engineering) from a recognized institution.
• ECSA registration as Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng is highly preferred (candidates in the process of registration will also be considered).
• Experience in construction as a contractor is essential.

• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and industry regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software is an advantage.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
