Job Description

  • A leading student accommodation organisation is seeking a Residence & Building Manager to oversee the day-to-day management, student experience, well-being, and overall operations of a student residence.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe, well-managed, and welcoming environment while supporting students and coordinating various student life and community initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management and operations of the residence.
  • Take responsibility for student well-being and support.
  • Manage and implement student life programmes and activities.
  • Coordinate sports, social, academic, wellness, career, leadership, and community engagement programmes.
  • Support first-year students and newcomers through welcoming and integration initiatives.
  • Manage and guide the Student Life Intern team.
  • Assist with disciplinary processes and ensure compliance with House Rules.
  • Maintain good order, safety, and a positive building culture.
  • Handle student and parent/guardian enquiries.
  • Manage communication between students and residence management.
  • Assist with security incidents and provide after-hours support where required.
  • Manage crisis situations and ensure appropriate reporting and follow-up.
  • Monitor and manage student programme budgets.
  • Work closely with staff and management to ensure a customer-focused, well-managed residence.

Requirements

  • Social Work qualification or relevant experience OR
  • Education qualification or relevant experience OR
  • NPO / Non-Profit Organisation qualification or relevant experience OR
  • Student or Youth Empowerment qualification or relevant experience.
  • Previous experience working with students, youth, communities, or in a residential environment.
  • Experience in building, residence, property, facilities, or community management will be advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing programmes, events, teams, or community initiatives.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and crisis management.
  • Budget management experience will be advantageous.
  • First Aid and other relevant certificates will be beneficial.
  • Must be comfortable with a live-in role and after-hours responsibilities.
