Research Fellow: Wastewater Treatment and Emerging Contaminants
3 years' Fixed Term Contract
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- PhD in Biotechnology/Microbiology or related fields
- Experience in wastewater treatment and emerging contaminants
- Minimum of 3 journal articles published
RECOMMENDATIONS
- Experience in wastewater treatment and chemicals of emerging concern
- Hands-on experience using UHPLC-MS, GC-MS
- Experience in molecular biology techniques
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
- Publication of 2 research output units per annum
- Designing and conducting research on wastewater treatment and remediation of pharmaceutical contaminants in wastewater
- Training students and researchers on analytical techniques such as HPLC, GCMS, etc.
- Assisting in community engagement activities
- Assisting with the preparation of grant applications, proposals, presentations, and progress
- Supervision/co-supervision of postgraduate students
- Provide guidance, advice, and technical assistance to students and staff in developing their research techniques.
- Conducting individual or collaborative research
