An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Equity Research / Investment Analyst to join a leading institutional investment environment, focusing on listed investments across the Rest of Africa .
The successful candidate will conduct fundamental company and market research, develop investment theses and provide well-supported buy/sell recommendations while contributing to the Rest of Africa investment house view.
Key requirements
- B Degree in Commerce, Finance or Science
- 3–5 years' relevant financial markets experience
- Strong listed equity research and fundamental analysis capability
- Proven ability to build, maintain and update financial/valuation models
- Strong understanding of macroeconomics and its impact on companies, sectors and investment portfolios
- Ability to formulate investment theses and make security recommendations
- Strong financial, analytical, numerical and presentation skills
- Willingness and ability to travel across the Rest of Africa
- FAIS RE5, or willingness to obtain it within 6 months of appointment
Highly advantageous
- Investment management research, investment banking or private equity experience
- Postgraduate qualification/Master's degree
- CFA or CA qualification/progress
Candidates should demonstrate clear exposure to company analysis, valuations, financial modelling and investment recommendations , preferably within listed equities or public markets.
