- The ideal candidate must oversee the day-to-day operations of the rendering plant to ensure smooth production, adherence to safety standards, and the efficient utilization of resources. This role requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage production activities, monitor equipment performance, coordinate staff, and ensure that all rendering processes are carried out according to company procedures and operational requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12/N32
- Tertiary qualification advantageous.
- HACCP knowledge.
- A minimum of five years' relevant experience in a Rendering Plant.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise rendering plant operations, including loading, processing, and unloading.
- Responsible for total production, yield, and boilers at the rendering plant
- Ensure compliance with production schedules and quality standards.
- Adjust staff/HR plans and equipment availability to meet production plans.
- Align equipment maintenance priorities with production requirements.
- Manage production targets, cost, and quality.
- Conduct daily/weekly inspections.
- Attend monthly safety meetings.
- Ensure legal compliance of the boilers and cookers.
- Ensure compliance with TQMS, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Adhere to HACCP and ISO regulations.
- Monitor environmental compliance waste disposal, effluent management.
- Coordinate routine maintenance and repairs.
