Komatsu South Africa has an opportunity for a Regional Parts Manager: ME to join the Africa Operations team at the Head Office, Germiston. The successful candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree (NQF 7) / Diploma (NQF 6) in Supply Chain or Inventory Management, and 6 years' experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

Summary of job role

Parts planning & forecasting

  • Executes Parts forecasting for the Region.
  • Liaising & coordinating with Projects Office in Operations.
  • Analysing availability- and inventory.
  • Determining accurate lead times.
  • Manages and oversees the expediting of important Parts.
  • Checks & monitors that Parts inventory will enable Operations to meet Service Level Agreements.
  • Reports on Plan progress & issues internally.

Parts Pricing

  • Applies the correct margins in the Forecasting & Planning function.
  • Liaises with Parts Division with regards to Parts pricing.
  • Participates in the negotiation of contracts for local agreements.
  • Provides decision support and information to the Country management team on pricing/savings/strategies.

Parts Operations

  • Uses planning data, liaises with Parts Division with regard to inventory and order quantities required for replenishment stock for operational units in a region.
  • Maintains a high level of visibility with customer stakeholders to address their needs, resolve issues, facilitate the process and to measure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitors regional parts operations from a functional perspective (all warehouses) in a region.
  • Maintaining strategic customer relationships with a view to meeting needs.
  • Collating metrics for example emergency orders & back orders, delivery, costs, cycle times & obsolete stock.
  • Consolidates information, drafts reports and provides input into the parts inventory requirements for operations within the region.
  • Provides feedback & makes recommendations to the Parts Division with regard to issues, problems and possible improvements.

Warehouse & Logistics

  • Manages and oversees a Regional Warehouse inbound and outbound processes.
  • Monitors skills sets of warehousing staff and suggests training, improvements and corrective action to HR function.
  • Monitors infrastructure and resources for a Regional warehouse function within a region.
  • Monitors the expediting of emergency and back-order.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualification

  • B. Degree (NQF 7) / Diploma (NQF 6) (Supply Chain, Inventory Management).

Experience

  • 6 years' experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience.

Skills/Additional requirements

SAP confirmations for picking and binning SAP Search items – bin history Printing and capturing of stock count sheets.
