Our client, a leading player in the logistics and supply chain industry, is seeking an experienced Regional Branch Manager to take accountability for branch and regional performance across Air and Ocean, Express and Contract Logistics. Duties & Responsibilities

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially driven logistics professional who can lead high-performing teams, optimise operational efficiency, strengthen client relationships and drive sustainable revenue and profitability.

Duties

  • Lead, coach and develop managers and multi-skilled teams to achieve operational and commercial objectives.
  • Take overall responsibility for branch and regional operational performance, service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the branch and region’s P&L, budgets, costs, margins and profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, reduce costs and increase revenue and margins.
  • Drive exceptional client satisfaction and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
  • Identify declining revenue and implement strategies to retain and grow existing business.
  • Lead and support new business development initiatives, including tenders, proposals and client take-ons.
  • Oversee sales performance and ensure effective sales processes and targets are implemented.
  • Manage relationships with overseas agents, SARS, service providers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor operational risks, compliance, security and insurance claims processes.
  • Drive change management, process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Take accountability for regional KPIs, scorecards and strategic business initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience within the clearing and forwarding and express industries.
  • Matric or equivalent.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification such as a Degree or National Diploma. Additional qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Freight Forwarding or Operations Management would be advantageous.
  • Proven experience managing managers and multi-skilled teams.
  • Strong commercial and financial management experience, including P&L responsibility.
