Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and manage the regional financial strategy in alignment with business objectives.
  • Act as a trusted business partner to executive leadership, supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Drive financial performance through accurate forecasting, reporting and analysis.
  • Support acquisition, divestiture and joint venture opportunities, including funding and tax structuring considerations.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with South African tax legislation, including VAT, payroll taxes and other statutory requirements.
  • Manage tax submissions, audits and regulatory reporting.
  • Oversee compliance, ethics and business-practice processes across the region.
  • Maintain and regularly update financial policies, controls and governance frameworks.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare annual financial statements and manage the external audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal reporting standards.
  • Deliver accurate and timely management reporting, budgets, forecasts and cash flow analysis.
  • Prepare board reports, shareholder updates and executive presentations.
  • Maintain a robust internal control environment and safeguard company assets.

Financial Analysis & Business Partnering

  • Review budgets, forecasts and management accounts across the portfolio.
  • Analyse business performance, identify trends and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Support operational teams with financial insights to improve decision-making and profitability.
  • Monitor and report on key financial and operational performance indicators.

Team Leadership

  • Provide leadership, mentorship and support to regional finance teams.
  • Develop finance talent and promote best practices in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Foster collaboration and strong working relationships across the wider finance function.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)).
  • Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Industry experience will be highly advantageous.

Experience & Technical Expertise

  • Extensive experience in:
  • IFRS reporting and group consolidations.
  • South African company law.
  • South African tax legislation and compliance.
  • Financial statement preparation.
  • Managing external audits.
