About the Role
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Regional Business Development Officer (RBDO) – Inland to grow sustainable glass recycling recoveries across Gauteng, North West, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and the Free State. This role is responsible for identifying growth opportunities, developing supplier networks, implementing recovery projects, and building strong stakeholder relationships to increase cullet collection volumes.
The successful candidate will be passionate about business development, relationship management, sustainability, and driving measurable regional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Recovery Growth & Business Development
Identify and develop new glass recovery opportunities across the region.
Expand cullet intake by activating new collection sources and recovery channels.
Achieve regional collection targets through effective pipeline management and performance tracking.
Support suppliers with growth plans and operational guidance to increase sustainable recovery volumes.
Implement practical recovery solutions in under-served and high-potential areas.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Maintain accurate regional collection and recycling performance databases.
Develop forecasts based on historical trends, supplier activity, and project pipelines.
Analyse regional performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective action plans.
Prepare and provide regular management reports on collection performance and growth initiatives.
Project Management
Identify and motivate projects that increase glass collection volumes and recovery accessibility.
Manage approved projects from implementation through to completion.
Monitor milestones, measure outcomes, and provide progress updates.
Ensure collection infrastructure and glass banks are strategically placed to maximise recovery potential.
Supplier & Stakeholder Development
Identify and onboard new collectors, agencies, and supplier partners.
Build and maintain long-term supplier relationships that support sustainable growth.
Engage with municipalities, community organisations, agencies, collectors, and internal stakeholders.
Remove barriers, unlock opportunities, and strengthen regional collection performance through effective stakeholder management.
