Refrigeration Technician

Alliance Foods is seeking a hands-on and skilled Refrigeration Technician (QSR) to join our team. This role is is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration and cooling systems used in fast-paced restaurant environments. The role ensures uninterrupted operation of equipment critical to food preservation and preparation, such as walk-in coolers, freezers, and ice machines, while complying with health and safety standards. The successful candidate will ensure that our facilities are well-maintained, and that all equipment operates efficiently. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Installation : Install refrigeration systems and cooling units specific to QSR environments, such as walk-in freezers, cold storage units, and ice makers. Connect systems to electrical, mechanical, and plumbing lines, ensuring compliance with South African building and safety codes. Preventive Maintenance : Conduct regular inspections and servicing of refrigeration units to prevent breakdowns and maintain optimal performance. Ensure all equipment complies with food safety regulations (HACCP standards). Repairs : Diagnose and repair faults in refrigeration equipment to minimize downtime in restaurant operations. Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to avoid service interruptions. Compliance and Safety : Handle refrigerants according to SANS 10147 standards and SAQCC Gas regulations.
