Our client based in Elandsfontein is looking for a reliable, professional and well organised receptionist to join their team. Duties & Responsibilities
REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Previous experience in a Receptionist, Switchboard Operator, Front Desk or Administrative role
- Previous experience operating a multi-line switchboard will be advantageous
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional telephone etiquette
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple calls and requests simultaneously
- Professional appearance and manner
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
DUTIES
- Manage and operate the nationwide company switchboard, answering and directing incoming calls to the appropriate departments or employees.
- Professionally and efficiently handle high volumes of incoming telephone calls.
- Take and relay messages accurately when employees are unavailable.
- Greet and welcome visitors to Head Office in a friendly and professional manner.
- Direct visitors to the relevant employee or department and ensure appropriate visitor procedures are followed.
- Provide general information to callers and visitors where appropriate.
- Maintain a professional, neat and welcoming reception area.
- Assist with general administrative and reception-related duties.
- Receive and distribute incoming mail, parcels and other deliveries.
- Assist with outgoing courier arrangements where required.
- Maintain accurate contact lists and ensure switchboard information is kept up to date.
- Assist with coordinating meeting room bookings and welcoming visitors attending meetings.
- Provide general administrative support to the Head Office team when required.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Escalate queries or calls to the appropriate department or employee when necessary.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
- Perform any other reasonable duties related to the position.
Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience
