Our client, a well-established and respected freight and logistics company based in Durban , is seeking a professional, friendly, and organised Receptionist to join their team.
This role is ideal for an individual with excellent communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to manage a busy reception area while providing administrative support to the business.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and suppliers, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience while providing efficient administrative support to various departments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet and assist visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls.
- Manage the reception area, ensuring it is neat and presentable at all times.
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, courier deliveries, and documents.
- Coordinate outgoing courier collections and deliveries.
- Manage meeting room bookings and prepare meeting rooms when required.
- Provide general administrative support, including filing, scanning, photocopying, and data capturing.
- Maintain office supplies and stationery inventory.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating diaries where required.
- Capture and update information on company systems.
- Liaise with internal departments, clients, suppliers, and service providers.
- Perform additional administrative duties as requested by management.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- A relevant qualification in Business Administration or Office Administration will be advantageous.
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Receptionist or Front Office Administration role.
- Previous experience within the freight forwarding, logistics, or corporate environment will be advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Friendly, professional, and well-presented with a positive attitude.
