Purpose

To oversee and manage the full spectrum of financial operations — including reconciliations, reporting, asset management, compliance, and audit preparation. The role is accountable for executing key financial processes in line with internal controls, company policies, and all relevant financial regulations, supporting both The Dunes at Arniston and Overberg Test Range (OTR)

Key Performance Areas

  • Manage the full spectrum of financial operations, including reconciliations, cash flow, budgeting, asset management, and audit preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, PFMA, PPPFA, and internal control standards.
  • Oversee general ledger integrity, month-end and year-end processes, and preparation of accurate financial reports.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and implementing corrective actions.
  • Perform daily revenue and income audits for all hospitality streams
  • Oversee guest billing, deposits, credit card reconciliations, and corporate accounts.
  • Manage stock control for F&B, housekeeping, and consumables, ensuring accurate reporting and cost efficiency.
  • Prepare hospitality management reports
  • Support payroll processing, gratuities, and hospitality-related staff costs in compliance with tax and labour legislation.
  • Provide financial insights and advice to management, supporting strategic decision-making, cost optimisation, and revenue growth.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors, and operational managers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, policy implementation, and financial governance.
  • Actively participate in team engagement, staff meetings, and performance processes.
  • Promote company values, accountability, and a strong financial control culture.
  • Support ad-hoc projects and identify cost-saving opportunities to drive efficiency.
  • Proactively identify cost-saving opportunities and minimize waste to support financial efficiency goals.
  • Participate in staff meetings and performance management processes.
  • Uphold and model company values, contributing positively to team culture and organizational performance.
  • Assist with additional duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance (NQF 7 or equivalent).
  • At least 5 years’ experience in financial and cost accounting within a medium to large company.
  • Proven track record in accurate financial data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Advanced knowledge of:

-International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

-Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)

-Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA)

-Project accounting, management reporting, and cost accounting processes

  • Sound knowledge of:

-Statutory financial and taxation regulations

-King III compliance and assurance principles

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and financial/accounting software applications.
  • Competent financial modelling skills.
  • Ability to identify and analyse financial risks, and provide appropriate recommendations to management in support of strategic objectives.
  • Hospitality industry background (essential/advantageous).
