- A reputable building contractor , with over 50 years of industry experience , is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team based in Paarl . This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a respected construction company delivering commercial building projects ranging in value from R20 million to R200 million .
- The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple construction projects, ensuring effective cost control, contract administration, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and project budgets.
- Manage all pre- and post-contract quantity surveying functions.
- Prepare and evaluate subcontractor enquiries and appointments.
- Measure, value, and certify work completed.
- Prepare monthly cost reports and financial forecasts.
- Manage project budgets and monitor commercial performance.
- Prepare and assess variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Assist with procurement of subcontractors and materials.
- Ensure accurate cost control throughout project execution.
- Liaise with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Monitor project expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate commercial records using CCS Candy software.
- Ensure projects are completed within approved budgets and commercial objectives.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying from a recognised University or University of Technology.
- Approximately 5–10 years' experience within the building construction industry.
- Proven experience on commercial building projects.
- Experience managing projects valued between R20 million and R200 million will be advantageous.
- Proficiency in CCS Candy software is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
