Please note that a valid driver's licence and own vehicle are required! Detail: Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare Bill of Quantities with measured rates Provide estimates and tenders for contracts Build up and maintain rates in estimating program Track and monitor subcontractor claims and payments Negotiate prices with suppliers Construction Staff management Financial control of contracts Review of actual vs allowable on projects Process invoices and compile supporting documents for payments Manage retention Manage variations and have all approved in writing before work commences Manage subcontractors, from comparing rates/quotes, sending letters of appointment, ensuring work is completed, invoices are submitted to the accounts team with supporting documents Updating the live bills for each project Managing budgets and ensuring projects are completed within their allocated budgets Ensuring projects meet quality standards Ensuring projects are completed within the construction programme for the relevant project Follow building regulations with regards to health and safety Liaise with service providers for services to be provided to construction sites, i.e. Siza Water, Home Owners Association, KwaDukuza Municipality Electrical Department, etc. Prepare bank draws and compile payment certificates Travelling to sites to keep track of construction progress and attending to queries Review and approve purchase orders Other ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Employer. Requirements: Quantity surveyor degree – Btech/B.Sc Quantity Surveyor or similar Experience in the construction industry – commercial and residential buildings Must have project management experience Must have a financial background in construction Must understand the Bill of Quantities, rated bill and compiling live cost reports Must have procurement experience to tender and award contractors, material suppliers and labour subbies based off the rated BOQ and then to keep a variance report Must know how to measure and cost brickwork and all construction trades Must be able to visit sites regularly - own vehicle required Should you not receive a response within the next 2 weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful.
