- BSc Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognized South African university (Wits, University of Pretoria (TUKS), University of the Free State (UFS), University of Cape Town (UCT), or Nelson Mandela University (NMU)).
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in the private sector.
- Strong contractual and practical quantity surveying knowledge, particularly JBCC contracts.
- Proficient in WinQS and DimX software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
- Compile bills of quantities and tender documentation.
- Evaluate and analyze tender submissions and provide recommendations.
- Manage project cost control and financial reporting throughout project execution.
- Measure and value work completed on site.
- Prepare interim payment certificates and final accounts.
- Administer contracts in accordance with JBCC and other applicable contractual frameworks.
- Identify and manage project risks and cost variations.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost planning exercises.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Attend project meetings and provide commercial and contractual guidance.
- Ensure projects remain within approved budgets while maintaining quality standards.
- Prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts for management and clients.
- Assist in dispute resolution and contractual claims management where required.
