  • Own the quality system for the company, not for one tender. Every job — motor, pump, valve, site install or outage package — is planned, inspected, recorded and released against an approved QCP and the current ISO 9001:2015 system. Quality is visible on the floor and on site, not only in the file.
  • Reports to General Manager independent of Production and Engineering output
  • Works with Engineering, Production, project managers, clients and third-party inspectors
  • Scope QMS for workshop and site work across all sectors and contracts.
  • Employment Permanent, full time. Client witness points and factory assessments as required.

Minimum requirements

  • National Diploma / BTech in Quality, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a trade-plus-quality path with proven industrial experience.
  • Five years' quality in a workshop, fabrication, OEM or multi-site industrial environment. At least some rotating-machines or heavy mechanical exposure.
  • Able to write a populated QCP / ITP with acceptance criteria, records and H / W / R / S points.
  • ISO 9001 working knowledge. Computer literate. English for client and assessment work. Valid driver's licence.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor.
  • Utility, mining or rail factory-assessment experience.

Accountabilities System

  • Maintain ISO 9001:2015 and extend the same discipline to all product lines the certificate does not yet name.
  • Issue QCPs / ITPs, method-statement quality content, the authorisation matrix and the quality-file index before work starts.
  • Agree hold, witness, review and surveillance points with Engineering, Production and the client. Typical holds: approved assessment before repair; winding / critical assembly; pre-impregnation or equivalent process hold; final test and databook / handover.

In-process and release

  • Inspect at the point of work. Records are live. Backfilled or pre-signed packs are a disciplinary quality failure.
  • Control material certificates, calibration, quarantine and NCRs across copper, insulation, bearings, mechanical parts and site-bought material.
  • Nothing dispatches or hands over without a complete databook, closed holds and a release note that matches the physical job.

Clients, audits and tenders

  • Host factory assessments and third-party inspections across sectors.
  • Supply completed QCP examples, calibration evidence and quality appointment letters for bids. Do not recycle another contract's letter.
  • Investigate warranty and in-service failures. The finding changes the standard, not only the credit note.
  • Run workshop and site walks: WIP trace-back, reverse trace, signature timeline, calibration trap, dispatch gate.

Authority

  • Stop work and stop dispatch / handover on any YNF job.
  • Quarantine product, material and instruments. Raise and close NCRs. Concessions only with Engineering and, where required, the client and GM.
