QUALITY CONTROLLER (Taylor Made Foods)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Quality & Food Safety Leadership: Enforce strict compliance with HACCP, local (DAFF/NRCS/CGCSA), and international food safety standards specifically tailored to raw and processed meat and seafood handling. Risk Management & Auditing: Lead comprehensive risk assessments, cross-departmental audits, and root-cause analyses to proactively identify and mitigate production vulnerabilities. Process Improvement & Efficiency: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production lines to optimize product quality, reduce yield loss, and enhance operational workflows. Supplier & Raw Material Oversight: Evaluate supplier compliance, inspect incoming meat and fish consignments, and enforce quality benchmarks from farm/fishery to plant. Cross-Functional Training & Collaboration: Partner with operations, hygiene, and supply chain teams to deliver ongoing safety training and build a unified culture of quality excellence. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Matric/Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification Food Safety related post matric qualification Proven experience of at least 2 years or more in a similar role within a food related industry Understanding and adhering to the company's Health and Safety standards Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Good time management with tasks and hands-on approach Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. High levels of integrity and confidentiality.
