- At Montego, our Quality Controllers help keep our high standards at the heart of everything we do. From raw materials and production checks to finished product testing and documentation, you'll play a key role in ensuring every stage of the process meets our quality, food-safety and consistency standards.
What you will be doing
- Inspecting raw materials, packaging and storage conditions against approved specifications.
- Checking stock rotation, batch numbers, expiry dates and supporting documentation.
- Monitoring quality throughout batching, mixing, extrusion, baking, moulding and cooling processes.
- Conducting sensory, moisture and water activity checks.
- Drawing product samples for laboratory testing.
- Performing scale verifications and production-line quality checks.
- Identify quality deviations and escalate them in line with established quality procedures.
- Completing and verifying QA documentation and production records.
- Monitoring hygiene, housekeeping, food safety and OHS standards.
- Guiding and supporting direct reports and monitoring required cleaning schedules.
Requirements
What makes you a great fit?
- Grade 12 or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
- At least two years' experience as a Quality Control Assistant or Quality Controller.
- Knowledge of food-safety, hygiene and quality standards.
- Understanding of product specifications.
- Able to measure water activity and moisture and complete scale checks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Accurate, reliable and highly attentive to detail.
- Strong communication, monitoring and follow-up skills.
- Willing to work shifts.
