Job description: The QA Developer is responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining software quality assurance solutions across business applications. The role combines strong testing discipline with technical development capability, with a focus on automated testing, API testing, regression testing, defect prevention, and continuous quality improvement throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse business requirements, user stories, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria to define test scope and quality risks.
  • Design detailed test cases, test scenarios, regression packs, and reusable test data aligned to business processes and system integrations.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and frameworks for web applications, APIs, regression testing, and integration testing.
  • Use appropriate tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, JMeter, Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar technologies where applicable.
  • Execute manual and automated tests across functional, regression, integration, API, usability, performance, and data validation testing.
  • Log, track, prioritise, retest, and report defects using Azure DevOps, JIRA, or equivalent defect management tools.
  • Support continuous testing practices by contributing to CI/CD pipelines and providing early feedback on code quality and release readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency, reduce manual effort, strengthen test coverage, and prevent defects from reaching production.
  • Work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and business users to clarify requirements and resolve quality issues.
  • Provide clear testing progress updates, quality metrics, defect trends, and release readiness feedback to project stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Development, Quality Assurance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in software quality assurance, testing, test automation, or a related software development/testing role.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile delivery, regression testing, integration testing, and defect lifecycle management.
  • Practical experience with test automation tools and scripting, including at least one programming or scripting language such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or SQL.
  • Experience with API testing, database validation, test data preparation, and tools such as Postman, Azure DevOps, JIRA, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis capability.
  • High attention to detail, structured documentation ability, and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders

Negotiable Requirements

  • ISTQB Foundation or related testing certification.
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or regulated business environments.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, performance testing, security testing, or cloud-based testing environments.
  • Experience contributing to automated regression packs and quality dashboards
