We are looking for a skilled, versatile, and highly motivated Qualified Electrician to join a team who provides trusted domestic, commercial, and industrial electrical solutions across the Port Elizabeth and St Francis regions.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience spanning domestic repairs, industrial installations, and medium voltage (MV) systems. Because we pride ourselves on exceptional service and reliability, you will also participate in our 24-hour standby rotation to handle emergency call-outs.
Qualifications / Requirements
• Qualifications: Trade Tested Electrician (Red Seal)
• Licensing: 3-Phase Wireman’s License is highly preferred (Registered with the DoEL as an Installation Rules Electrician)
• Experience: Proven, well-rounded experience across Domestic, Commercial, Industrial, and Medium Voltage fields
• Driver's License: Valid Code B / EB driver's license (essential for site visits and standby call-outs)
• Technical Skills: Competence in reading electrical schematics, control circuit design, and operating MV/HV testing equipment
• Attributes: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to work independently under pressure during emergency standby hours
Key Performance Areas
Industrial and Commercial Systems
• Install, repair, maintain, and retrofit Generators, MV and LV Switchgear, Transformers, and Distribution Boards
• Manage Substation installations and switchgear installations up to 132Kv
• Rebuild, repair, and design Control Circuits for control panels and starter circuits
• Perform maintenance, retrofits, and repairs on Variable Speed Drives (VSD) and Power Factor Correction systems
• Execute cable tracing, jointing, and fault finding (including work on 6.6Kv Motors)
• Handle factory installations, maintenance contracts, battery charger repairs, and low voltage/termination work on Wind Towers
Domestic and Residential Systems
• General electrical installations and repairs in houses and townhouse complexes
• Complete fault finding, rewiring, and issuing of Wiring Certificates (CoC)
• Install and maintain alternative energy systems, including Solar and Inverter installations
• Install, supply, and maintain UPS Systems and prepaid meters
Infrastructure, Mechanical and Diagnostic Work
• Perform repairs on overhead lines and manage MV Switching Operations
• Maintain and repair Highmast lights, pumps, and trailers
• Conduct specialized diagnostic testing, including Infrared Scanning and Load Recordings

Package & Remuneration
Salary: Market-related salary based on experience
