Start free — we apply for you →- RCL FOODS is seeking a QA Technologist FTC 3 months to join our RCL FOODS Division. The role will be based in Pretoria West and report to the Senior QAT. RCL FOODS is looking for an individual to drive compliance with the organisation's policies, procedures, customer and regulatory requirements through the development and administering of Food Safety and Quality programs related to the manufacturing of product.
Minimum Requirements Qualifications
- Matric
- National Diploma or Degree in Quality or Food Technologist or Biotechnologyt
- Food Safety and HACCP training
- FSSC / ISO 22000 will be an advantage
- Auditor qualification internal
Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in FMCG / Food Manufacturing environment
Knowledge
- Application and strong knowledge of GMP'S, HACCP, ISO 22 000 and preferably FSSC 22 000 in a QMS environment.
- Fluent in English, computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Word & Excel.
Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
Nonconformance Reports
- Raise NCR's as and when required and communicate with relevant parties
- Follow up on open NCR's
- Verify action taken to close raised NCR's
- Keep records and trend
Customer Complaints
- Investigate consumer complaints and communicate with relevant parties
- Generate reports and give feedback to relevant parties within required time
- Update the complaints on a tracker Trend and analyses complaints
- Follow up on and verify effectiveness of corrective and preventative action taken.
Traceability
- Review and update traceability documents
- Conduct traceability exercises to identify any gaps
- Take required action to close identified gaps to improve the system
Audits
Internal
- Conducts internal food safety including GMP & process audits
- Compiles and maintains internal audit schedules
- Arranges audits with relevant managers to ensure participation and clear communication
- Communicates audit findings to management & all relevant stakeholders
- Arrange follow up audits with relevant managers & all relevant stakeholders
- Verifies audit findings are actioned and closed effectively
- Compares internal audit findings against external audit findings to identify gaps
External
- Understands the criteria required for external audits
- Participates in third party audits
- Conduct supplier audits
- Ensure audit findings are actioned and closed effectively
Product development
- Support the NPD team to ensure that the new projects support food safety compliance and improve product quality
- Assist with factory trials
- Ensure all required documents are reviewed and updated for newly launched products
- Design Accept / reject criteria / quality contracts on all final products
Training
- Identify training requirements
- Train all relevant staff on food safety requirements
- Conduct competency assessments to ensure all trained staff understood and practice the learnings
- Generate and review training material
- Update and trend training register.
Supplier Quality Assurance
- Review and update supplier quality assurance program
- Review and update the approved supplier list
- Review supplier rating according to procedure
- Send supplier questionnaire and follow up and review contents
- Communicate any deviations and raise NCR's and follow up with suppliers
- Review concessions and communicate outcome with all relevant parties
- Conduct supplier visits/ audits as and when required
