• Installing PVC pipework and fittings for water filtration and treatment systems • Accurate measuring, cutting, preparation and solvent-cement jointing of PVC pipe and fittings • Installing pipework to filtration vessels, pumps, valves, filters and associated equipment • Working with PVC pressure pipe and fittings • Assisting with the installation, commissioning and servicing of water-treatment systems • General plumbing and pipework installation as required • Assisting technicians with equipment installation and maintenance • Working neatly and accurately to ensure leak-free, reliable pipework installations The Job Is Physically Demanding The successful candidate must be physically capable of handling heavy equipment and materials, including:
• Filter media vessels and filtration equipment • Emptying and handling used filter media from vessels • Carrying 25-litre chemical drums • Lifting and carrying bags of filter media • Moving pumps, tanks, pipework and other water-treatment equipment • Working in confined or awkward areas when required ✅ Requirements • Previous hands-on experience with PVC pipework and fittings • Experience with solvent welding / solvent-cement jointing of PVC pipe • Good understanding of pipe measurements, levels, alignment and installation • Plumbing or water-treatment installation experience will be an advantage • Experience with HDPE pipework would be an advantage • Physically fit and able to perform heavy manual work • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship • Reliable, punctual and willing to work on-site • Valid South African Driver's Licence would be an advantage Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is practical, reliable and takes pride in their workmanship. You should be comfortable working with your hands, solving problems on-site and working as part of a team installing and maintaining professional water-treatment systems. Previous experience in water filtration, purification, plumbing, pump installations or industrial pipework will be highly advantageous.
