- Develop and implement public relations and stakeholder engagement programmes that promote a positive municipal image and strengthen stakeholder confidence.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with communities, traditional leaders, government institutions, business sector stakeholders, civil society organisations, media and development partners.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement forums, public participation programmes, outreach initiatives and community awareness activities.
- Plan, organise and manage municipal events, launches, exhibitions, conferences, public meetings, commemorations and official ceremonies from concept to completion.
- Manage event logistics, procurement requirements, venues, invitations, branding, registrations, service providers and event programmes to ensure successful implementation.
- Prepare event concepts, budgets, implementation plans, speeches, briefing notes, programmes and post-event evaluation reports.
- Coordinate sponsorships, partnerships and stakeholder participation to support municipal events and public relations initiatives.
- Provide protocol and ceremonial support for official municipal functions and advise stakeholders on protocol requirements, etiquette and ceremonial procedures.
- Coordinate official visits, hosting arrangements and engagements involving dignitaries, government representatives, ambassadors, international delegations and strategic partners.
- Support communication and publicity activities associated with municipal events and stakeholder engagement programmes.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of public relations campaigns, stakeholder programmes and events, and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Maintain stakeholder databases, event records and administrative systems, and prepare reports on programme performance and outcomes.
- Represent the Municipality at meetings, forums and functions as delegated by Manager Communications.
Requirements
- National Higher Diploma / Degree in Public Relations
- 2 - 3 Years Relevant Experience;
- A valid Drivers License
