Are you a hands-on Property Maintenance professional with strong leadership skills and a people-focused approach?

Our client in Cape Town manages 270 apartment units, gardens and a small vehicle fleet and is seeking an experienced Property Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations, lead staff and manage contractors.

The ideal candidate will have practical experience in brickwork, plastering, painting, carpentry, welding, and electrical and plumbing fault identification and repairs. You should be comfortable assisting with hands-on maintenance while leading your team, building positive client relationships and ensuring properties are maintained to a high standard. Duties & Responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid SA driving license (Code 8 / Code B)
  • Fully bilingual in Afrikaans & English
  • Knowledge of health and safety systems
  • Able to interpret building plans and conduct basic motor vehicle maintenance
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Basic IT-related troubleshooting experience related to computers, printers and phones
  • Not afraid of heights or entering confined spaces (ceilings)
  • Budget management for the maintenance department
  • Work under pressure and prioritise tasks
  • Practical and hands-on with leadership abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willing to be available after hours for emergencies

DUTIES

  • Ensure smooth operation of the property's facilities
  • Manage maintenance staff and contractors (cleaners, security etc)
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety
  • Assist with basic electrical, plumbing, repair and property maintenance work
  • Administration of stock movements
  • Manage motor vehicle maintenance
  • Manage IT/network infrastructure, CCTV & security

Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience, including pension fund.
