Start free — we apply for you →Job Title: QA / QC Manager Start Date: 2026-07-24 - 2026-08-23 Vacancy Type: Permanent JHB000288 Sectors: Manufacturing Location: Gauteng , JHB - Southern Suburbs Salary: R75 000.00 CTC - R80 000.00 CTC Brief: A well established engineering manufacturing / fabrication concern is seeking a QA / QC Manager to: Lead, mature and continuously improve the QA/QC systems, personnel and culture across the company fabrication ecosystem. This role provides oversight of all QA/QC operational activities, drives ISO compliance, and ensures high-quality output through robust inspection and test frameworks. The QA/QC Manager plays a critical functional leadership role across company workshops and project teams to ensure that every product leaving the floor meets standard of excellence and is backed by traceable, auditable certification and documentation. Education & Training Requirements - Level 2 Weld Inspection Certification (e.g., SAQCC, SAIW, IIW) - Advantageous: Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, or Quality Management Knowledge & Experience a. Minimum 5-7 years in Quality Assurance/Control roles, including supervisory/managerial capacity b. Demonstrated experience managing audits (internal, external, customer, ISO) and corrective action close-out c. Advanced knowledge of welding inspection, fabrication standards (ISO 3834, ASME, EN), and traceability systems d. Experience implementing quality systems and process improvement initiatives in a manufacturing context e. Strong familiarity with QMS platforms (manual or digital), NCR management tools, and inspection workflow systems Key Skills & Attributes a. Leadership and team development ability, with a focus on coaching QA/QC Inspectors and NDT staff b. Excellent root cause analysis and problem-solving capability c. High attention to detail, consistency, and commitment to zero-defect delivery d. Strong written communication for client and audit reporting e. Strategic mindset with the ability to balance technical integrity and production constraints f. Conflict resolution and assertive communication when dealing with cross-departmental non conformance Detail: Key Responsibilities a. Oversee and develop QA/QC strategy, systems, and procedures in alignment with ISO and company-specific standards. b. Manage and mentor a multi-site QA/QC team of Superintendents, Inspectors, and Admin personnel. c. Conduct internal and external audits, lead non-conformance root cause analysis, and ensure effective corrective/preventative actions. d. Lead ITP/QCP development and execution in conjunction with Project Management and Fabrication teams. e. Ensure full adherence to legal and customer compliance requirements, including coordination of 3rd-party inspection bodies. f. Represent QA/QC during high-level client engagements, shutdowns, and critical milestone reviews. g. Spearhead quality improvement initiatives and drive cross-functional ownership of quality outcomes. h. Own the SHE-LCD-500 Welding Coordinator responsibilities across the network, ensuring procedural and personnel alignment. - SHE-LCD-500-Welding Management Coordinator - Where the incumbent does not hold the required industry-recognised qualification or certification to be formally appointed as the Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) for the applicable scope of work, they shall still play a key role in welding coordination activities as part of the responsible welding coordination team, working under or in conjunction with a suitably qualified internally appointed RWC. show more...
