The role will oversee trial balances, prepare management reports, complete monthly VAT calculations and submissions, and assist with audit and SARS requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Financial Controller and provide support across various accounting and financial reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities: Financial Accounting

• Record and post day-to-day financial transactions accurately and timeously. • Ensure transactions are correctly recorded in MDA across the relevant entities and properties. • Maintain supplier, customer and general ledgers. • Review captured expense batches for correct allocation. • Perform comprehensive checks of the posting process. • Assist with reviewing and tying up financial statements. • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations. • Prepare and post monthly journals, including depreciation, provisions, amortisation, accruals and ad hoc journals. • Review and journalise the Fixed Asset Register. • Ensure financial records and trial balances are accurate and up to date. Management Reporting

• Prepare monthly financial reports for management meetings. • Perform monthly income statement variance analysis and provide meaningful commentary. • Assist the Financial Controller with management reporting requirements. • Act as a backup to the Financial Controller when required. VAT & Tax

• Perform monthly VAT input and output reconciliations. • Prepare and submit VAT returns to SARS. • Assist with SARS VAT audits and queries. • Assist with final tax calculations and related queries when required. • Ensure all tax and statutory reporting deadlines are met. Audit & Compliance

• Assist with external audit processes and provide required supporting documentation. • Assist with SARS audits and ensure queries are addressed accurately and timeously. • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation. • Ensure compliance with accounting and statutory requirements. General

  • Meet all reporting and accounting deadlines.
  • Provide assistance with ad hoc accounting and finance-related tasks.
  • Perform any reasonable duties or assignments requested by management.
  • Support the finance team in maintaining accurate, reliable and up-to-date financial data.

Job Experience and Skills Required: • Completed Finance, Accounting or related qualification. • Minimum 3 years' relevant accounting experience . • Proven experience in financial accounting and financial reporting. • Strong understanding of accounting principles. • Experience with MDA software is essential/ad
