Introduction

HERTEX is a leading supplier of high-quality fabrics, rugs, wallpaper and homeware for both the local

and international market. What started in 1987 as a humble Cape Town showroom has since grown

into 19 showrooms nationwide, with more on the way, as well as a thriving online store,

hertexhaus.co.za. Hertex is a family-run business that’s focused on achieving excellence in everything

it does. We are seeking a Projects & Portfolio manager to manage all the coastal Hertex

Properties and Building Projects and the general maintenance of all existing properties.

Duties & Responsibilities

Hertex Properties

 Maintaining of portfolio of all coastal Hertex properties

 Administrate and manage all coastal properties

 Sourcing of new tenants and management of existing coastal tenants

 Negotiate purchase of new buildings as approved by the board

 Sourcing of new buildings when required

 Handling of any council submission or approvals

Building Projects

 Manage contractors - locating, evaluating and selecting contractors specific to a project

 Manage and oversee building projects - get budget from management, appoint contractor

and prepare all necessary documentation

General Maintenance of existing Properties

 General upkeep of coastal showrooms and surrounds

 Responsible for maintenance & upkeep of all coastal properties

Feedback and Reporting

 Provide monthly reports to Directors on all the properties and building projects (project

details, progress and risks).

Desired Experience & Qualification

 National Senior Certificate

 At least 3 years’ experience in property management and maintenance in a corporate

environment

 Previous experience in Health & Safety

 Must have a hands on and pro-active approach with the ability to attend to small

maintenance jobs without the use of external service providers where possible

 Professional with the ability to work under pressure

 Ability to work independently

 Strong administrative skills

 Experience with council dealings (submissions, approvals etc)

 Highly organised and good attention to detail

 Must be able to work, interact and provide feedback on Director and CEO level
