- Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related field.
- Relevant project management qualification would be advantageous.
- Minimum 810 years' project management experience , preferably within a mining, mineral processing or process plant environment.
- Proven experience managing SIB / capital projects .
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering and construction projects.
- Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, cost control and project execution.
- Knowledge of relevant mining legislation, regulations and engineering standards.
- Strong understanding of Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)
- Proven experience managing contractors and subcontractors.
- Strong financial and budget management experience.
- Proficiency in project management and planning software.
Roles and Responsibilities Project Management
• Manage SIB projects from project initiation through to successful completion. • Develop and maintain detailed project execution plans. • Define project scope, deliverables, milestones and timelines. • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and ensure effective project execution. • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where required. • Ensure projects are delivered according to approved scope, budget, schedule and quality standards. SIB Project Execution
• Manage Stay-in-Business (SIB) projects aimed at maintaining, improving and extending the operational capability of plant and infrastructure. • Identify project requirements and coordinate the implementation of approved SIB initiatives. • Ensure project designs, specifications and technical documentation are completed and approved. • Coordinate shutdowns, plant modifications, equipment upgrades and infrastructure-related projects where applicable. • Ensure project handover and close-out requirements are completed. Planning & Scheduling
• Develop and maintain project schedules and monitor progress against key milestones. • Coordinate project activities with operations, engineering, maintenance and other relevant departments. • Identify potential delays, risks and resource constraints and implement mitigation plans. • Ensure project resources are planned and allocated effectively. Financial & Cost Management
- Develop and manage project budgets.
- Monitor project expenditure and ensure costs remain within approved budgets.
