Our client in the Food Manufacturing Industry, requires the services of an Engineer who will be responsible for managing projects and for scoping and implementing engineering projects in support of operations and efficiency. The purpose is to provide increased capacity/productivity and driving cost reduction activities etc.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key performance areas
- Leading and overseeing the successful execution of the project through the application of project management best practices.
- Oversee the successful execution of projects by leading and engaging cross functional teams to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, on scope and on budget.
- Engage with cross functional teams to properly define the problem statement for each project and motivate the project by means of various avenues of ROI.
- Track progress towards outcomes and identify/escalate project issues in a timely fashion.
- Proactively manage available resources
- Propose various solutions to ensure the highest return on investment for each project proposal.
- Develop cost models and facility capacity models/designs to ensure realistic projects solutions.
- Professional engagement and negotiation with potential equipment suppliers/vendors.
Desired Experience & Qualification
The successful candidate must have
- Matric with a Degree in B.Eng e.g. Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or similar qualification
- At least 4 years relevant experience in a similar role
- Exposure in FMCG/Manufacturing will be advantageous
- Knowledge of production/manufacturing operations will be advantageous
- Excellent computer literacy (MS Excel – advanced and knowledge of Google Sheets)
- Must have great analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Must have excellent ability to adapt and be able to operate independently
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
