Project Engineer

Introduction

Lead and manage capital projects, plant upgrades, process improvement initiatives and engineering investments from concept development through commissioning and final handover. Provide technical leadership, governance, stakeholder management and risk management. Ensure delivery within budget,

schedule and performance requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage projects from concept through to commissioning and handover.

• • Conduct feasibility studies and develop business cases.

• • Oversee contractors and asset capitalisation processes.

• • Assemble and coordinate project teams.

• • Ensure effective communication among stakeholders.

• • Record and distribute meeting minutes and project updates.

• • Manage project scope, schedules, and deliverables.

• • Identify project risks, dependencies, and constraints.

• • Prepare and review Scope of Work and BOQ documentation.

• • Control project expenditure within approved budgets.

• • Track funding and project costs in collaboration with Finance.

• • Report on project spending and cost performance.

• • Ensure compliance with company safety standards.

• • Maintain accurate and complete safety documentation.

• • Promote safe work practices among employees and contractors.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• BSc/BTech Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

• Project Management qualification advantageous

• ECSA registration advantageous

• Minimum 8 years engineering experience in heavy manufacturing and project engineering environment.

• Minimum 5 years project management experience.

• Quality system knowledge (VSM, SWI, etc.) Project, AutoCad, Inventor (or Equivalent) experience/ exposure

• Knowledge of various Engineering Disciplines
