Professional Quantity Surveyor – Commercial & Retail

Our client is an established quantity surveying practice based in Gauteng, with a strong focus on commercial and retail projects . They are urgently seeking an experienced Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) or Quantity Surveyor working towards professional registration to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong QS with a solid professional quantity surveying consultancy background who is looking to take ownership of commercial and retail projects within a collaborative, office-based environment.

Requirements: ·         Professionally registered as a PQS, or actively working towards professional registration ·         Education : BSc/ BSc Hons in Quantity Surveying or a related qualification ·         Proven experience within a professional quantity surveying consultancy ·         Strong commercial and/or retail project experience ·         Proficiency in WinQS and DimX is essential ·         Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, measurement and cost management ·         Excellent attention to detail and numerical ability ·         Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines ·         Willingness to work full-time from the company's offices

Responsibilities: ·         Manage quantity surveying functions across commercial and retail projects

·         Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation

·         Undertake measurements and prepare bills of quantities

·         Conduct tender evaluations and assist with contractor appointments

·         Manage valuations, payment certificates, variations and final accounts

·         Monitor project costs and provide accurate financial reporting

·         Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders

·         Provide professional quantity surveying advice throughout the project lifecycle

·         Assist with project management and cost-control requirements

·         Ensure all QS documentation and reporting is accurate and maintained to a high standard
