- Diploma / B Degree in nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse with Midwifery. Relevant post basic qualification Diploma in Advan
- ced Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science. Registration with SANC as Professional Nurse General and Advanced Midwifery. Current SANC receipt.
- Grade 1: A minimum of 04 years appropriate /recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with SANC in general nursing.
- Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate /recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with SANC in general nursing. At least 10 years of the period referred above must be appropriate/recognizable experience in specific speciality after obtaining the 1 year post basic qualification in the relevant speciality.

DUTIES
- Provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care including normal deliveries and management of obstetric emergencies. Conduct risk assessments, early detection and management of complications in pregnancy, labour and puerperium.
- Perform newborn resuscitation, essential newborn care and Kangaroo Mother Care.
- Implement and monitor Maternal, Child and Women's Health programmes in line with provincial and national guidelines.
- Ensure safe, quality maternity services to support reduction of maternal and neonatal mortality.
- Provide PHC services: HIV testing, initiation, retention to care, VL monitoring and suppression as per Siyeza and Operation Phuthuma requirements. Manage TB, STI, NCD, Family Planning and EPI programmes.
- Triage patients, diagnose, treat and refer in accordance with scope of practice and clinical protocols. Trace defaulters, missed appointments and loss to follow-up TROA.
- Monitor and reduce PSIs, complaints and waiting times. Ensure compliance with Ideal Clinic standards and infection prevention/control.
- Participate in audits, data validation and reporting for MCWH and HIV/TB indicators. Promote patient-centered care and professionalism.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, registers and statistics. Supervise and mentor PN, EN, ENA and CHWs on duty.
- Ensure cost-effective use of maternity equipment, drugs and stock. Report losses/damages. Participate in the 24/7 shift to ensure continuity of care in a busy township facility.
- Adhere to SANC regulations and Public Service Code of Conduct. Contribute to reducing risks.
- Provide health education to patients and community on maternal health, HIV/TB prevention.
