Job Title: Production Manager Start Date: 2026-07-31 - 2026-08-31 Vacancy Type: Permanent GTG001946 Sectors: Agriculture Location: Western Cape , CPT - Northern Suburbs Salary: R 500 000 - R 800 000 Annually Basic Salary (Accommodation included) Brief: agriculture|cape town|ceres|farming|fruit|fruit farming|pome fruit|stone fruit Production Manager – (Pome & Stone fruits) Ceres, Western Cape Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager – Fruit ( Pome Fruit – Apples and pears & Stone Fruit to join their farming operations in the Ceres area of the Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of fruit production activities, ensuring efficient operations, high-quality standards, and optimum productivity. This role reports directly to the Mentor/Head of Fruit Production. Detail: Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate and manage all fruit production activities. Monitor crop health and implement effective pest and disease control programmes. Manage irrigation and fertilisation programmes. Supervise, train and lead a team of 4–6 permanent employees, as well as seasonal labour during pruning, thinning and harvesting. Implement and maintain GlobalG.A.P., Nature's Choice and SIZA standards. Conduct daily and weekly planning to achieve production targets. Allocate tasks, monitor productivity and ensure quality standards are met. Manage employee performance, discipline and attendance. Maintain accurate production records, labour administration and budgeting support. Perform general farm administration and reporting. Minimum Requirements Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Physiology or a related field. Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial fruit production. Sound knowledge of orchard management. Working knowledge of GlobalG.A.P. and associated certification programmes. Strong leadership, planning and communication skills. Good administrative and computer literacy skills. Ability to work independently, motivate teams and drive productivity. High level of discipline, attention to detail and professionalism.
