Minimum Qualifications: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent. Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (advantageous). Machine setting certification (where applicable). Experience: 2-5 years' experience as a Machine Setter in a manufacturing environment. Experience with production machinery and equipment. Experience in troubleshooting machine faults. Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures. Knowledge: Machine setup and changeover procedures. Manufacturing and production processes. Health and safety regulations. Quality control standards. Basic mechanical and pneumatic systems. Production documentation and reporting. Technical Skills: Machine setup and calibration. Reading technical drawings and specifications. Mechanical troubleshooting. Measuring equipment usage (verniers, micrometers, gauges). Basic computer literacy. Complete production and setup documentation. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning. Report equipment faults to maintenance personnel. Ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures. Minimize downtime and production waste. Train operators on correct machine operation where required. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift materials within company safety guidelines. Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination. Performance Indicators (KPIs): Machine setup time. Production efficiency.
