Duties & Responsibilities

  • Fulfill the requirements as Emergency Coordinator in case of an emergency situation.
  • Management of full Shift Team staff including Logistic, Maintenance and Quality team members.
  • Coordination of all activities relating to operations during the production shift.
  • Ensure that all relevant operations process standards are maintained.
  • Make sure all production output requirements are met within the defined targets.
  • Ensure Health and Safety is maintained to the highest standards.
  • Ensure discipline is strictly maintained with all employees on site.
  • Stop any unsafe acts and ensure safe work practice is followed.
  • Utilize and develop employees as required, to ensure all production requirements are fulfilled.
  • Take actions to reach the defined operational targets.
  • Maintain discipline as defined in the company code of conduct.
  • Monitor finished goods stock levels and adjust planning if needed.
  • Escalate risks as defined in the plant escalation process matrix.
  • Production planning ensuring the required products are manufactured.
  • Review the production performance measures and take actions towards the non-conforming results. Problem quick response (ePQR) process tools to be used for these actions. For complex problems, not solvable by PQR, a systematic problem solving process must be followed. Problem solving sheets (PSS) or Problem management process (PMP) tools to be used in this situation.
  • Coordinate all shop floor-related actions required for implementation of engineering changes.
  • Ensure that communication [Shift handover] between shifts is done so that all relevant information and KPI’s reaches the required employees.
  • Coordinate Team Leader activities as defined by their job descriptions.
  • Communicate all relevant performance results (KPI’s) with teams on a weekly basis, PQCD indicators must be discussed and understood by all team members.
  • Define employee’s skill requirements to ensure work flexibility to limit performance losses during absentees and work rotation.
  • Plan the use of production equipment to accommodate scheduled maintenance requirements together with the Maintenance Technician.
  • Ensure the functionality and process of the [Emergency concept] is known and regularly reviewed so that in case of any emergency the supplies to customers are not at risk.
  • Compile all required reports for the operations review.
  • Optimize production processes in close collaboration with the Industrial Engineer.
  • Drive Brose Production System [BPS] within the Production department.
  • Development of production employees through ongoing coaching, training, and performance support..
  • Foster a positive workplace culture by promoting teamwork
  • Injection moulding responsibilities & roles:

  • Non-Conforming material management process
  • Ensure start up and shut down of facilities is done as required.
  • Ensure equipment, machines, facilities are used as required and for the purpose it is designed for and no other.  Ensure that TPM’s are conducted on all machines as stipulated on the TPM sheet.
  • Ensure adherence to equipment care including housekeeping.
  • Ensure all monitoring documentation is updated and used as defined.
  • Analyze and study production and assembly facilities to understand how it functions and obtain the knowledge of the product and assembly process standards.
  • Implement immediate change on any deviating process or nonstandard work to return the process to the required standard.
  • Ensure general rules and regulations, process and machine operational instructions are known and adhered to at all time.
  • Coordinate and support breakdowns to ensure the minimum downtime and fast recovery of the process standards and norms.
  • Ensure General Rules and Regulations are followed at all times.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Grade 12 / Standard 10
  • Production & supervision or similar education
  • Minimum 3 years in supervision of a production department within Automotive
  • Health & Safety requirements for industry
