We are looking for a Process Engineer to join a dynamic automotive and manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role focused on production process development, industrialisation, manufacturing efficiency and continuous improvement .
The successful candidate will play a key role in analysing and improving the existing production facility, developing standardised manufacturing processes and work instructions, implementing quality and material-flow systems, and supporting the factory in achieving a target production output.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed current-state analysis of the production facility, including production processes, material flow and quality-control systems.
- Map end-to-end production and material-flow processes from Production Stores through assembly and final QC .
- Conduct time and motion studies , station cycle-time analysis and identify bottlenecks, delays and non-value-adding activities.
- Develop and implement standardised production processes, standard work and workstation requirements .
- Develop practical, visual and controlled assembly manuals and work instructions for truck models and variants.
- Define assembly sequences, parts, tools, torque specifications, critical quality points and acceptance criteria.
- Develop and optimise Production Stores processes , including receiving, storage, picking, kitting, line-side supply and material replenishment.
- Develop production systems capable of supporting the required takt time, line balancing and daily production targets .
- Determine manpower, skills, tooling, equipment, WIP and material requirements for production stations.
- Establish effective quality gates, in-station quality controls and final QC processes .
- Monitor defects, rework and production quality and implement root-cause analysis and corrective actions .
- Establish a closed-loop After-Sales-to-Factory feedback process to ensure field issues are rapidly investigated and resolved.
- Drive corrective actions from problem identification through implementation, verification and formal closure.
- Implement approved process improvements directly on the factory floor .
- Support pilot builds, production trials, time studies and process validation.
- Develop and monitor production KPIs , including cycle times, first-pass quality, rework, material shortages and corrective actions.
- Train production, Stores and QC personnel on new processes, work instructions and standard work.
- Establish document control, revision control and continuous-improvement processes.
- Work closely with Production, Stores, Quality, Engineering, After-Sales and Management to ensure effective implementation of improvements.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Eng, BSc, BTech or equivalent qualification in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field .
- 3–7 years' relevant manufacturing or production engineering experience .
- Experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, truck or heavy manufacturing will be highly advantageous.
