Job Description

  • TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Production Controller, within the Grain division at Mkondo Mill, Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.

Job Summary

  • This role involves controlling and coordinating grain production and processing activities at the mill to ensure operational efficiency, product quality, and production targets are achieved.
  • The Grain Production Controller will monitor production processes, manage stock and inventory controls, and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and company standards.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate and monitor daily grain production and milling operations
  • Ensure production schedules are executed efficiently to meet operational requirements
  • Monitor grain intake, processing, storage, and dispatch activities
  • Maintain accurate production, stock, and inventory records
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure products meet required specifications
  • Investigate production variances and implement corrective actions where necessary
  • Monitor production performance and identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Liaise with management, quality assurance teams, and operational staff to ensure smooth workflow
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Monitor raw material usage and minimise waste throughout the production process
  • Compile and submit production reports and related documentation
  • Assist with production planning, forecasting, and resource allocation
  • Support maintenance planning by reporting equipment performance issues and downtime

Qualifications and Skills

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems certification or proven experience working within an ISO 9001 environment
  • Relevant experience in grain milling, feed milling, grain handling, or manufacturing operations
  • Knowledge of grain processing, quality control, and stock management principles
  • Understanding of food safety, occupational health and safety, and quality management systems
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and coordination abilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to compile, analyse, and interpret production data and reports
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid Drivers' License Code 08
