Production Controller

Description

• Review the planning of all inspections carried out in the Heavy Maintenance hangars;
• Estimate the maintenance downtime for Heavy Maintenance checks;
• Control the costing of all checks;
• Ensure that work packs are correct;
• Verify the accuracy of man-hours in work packs both estimated and actual and determine the necessary manpower;
• Optimise labour resources to consistently achieve a productivity rate of 75%;
• Ensure that scheduled spares and tools for checks are correct and available on time;
• Ensure the continuous availability of critical spares for C-checks in conjunction with Material Planners;
• Provide detailed daily updates and charts on the progress of checks;
• Monitor critical paths and plan accordingly;
• Conduct Survey and postmortem meetings to continuously improve check processes;
• Recommend AMS adjustments when working with Engineering and Planning;
• Coordinate the availability of major modules with Production and Logistics.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or Equivalent Essential;
• Aircraft trade Advantageous;
• Must have 5 years' experience in aircraft production planning or maintenance environment Essential;
• Must be willing to travel at short notice and extended period Essential;
• Must be able to work shifts Essential;
• Strong knowledge of SAM system;
• Thorough understanding of aviation regulations and safety standards;
• Thorough understanding of B737-800 Dimensions and areas;
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook;
• Good planning and organising skills;
• Good communication skills;
