- The Product manager is responsible for the team providing support to product development, implementation, and pricing activities for PSG Wealth's range of investment products.
- This will include ensuring accurate and timely provision of technical calculations, financial modelling and analyses in relation to pricing reviews, product investigations and competitor comparisons.
- The product development, implementation and maintenance activities apply across the PSG Wealth business, including PSG Life, PSG Invest and PSG Securities.
Responsibilities
- Manage the team of product analysts supporting the Fund and Securities business units within PSG Wealth
- Support the development and implementation of new products or product enhancements by performing calculations on product pricing, revenue and expense impacts as well as performing ongoing product investigations and competitor comparisons.
- Support the ongoing business strategy by ensuring that the product pricing remains competitive and profitable across the PSG Wealth business units. This will involve performing and overseeing calculations and investigative work for ongoing pricing reviews for both the Fund and Securities platforms, including product and pricing support for both the Advised and Online distribution channels.
- Support the consideration for special or large transaction platform fee requests.
- Provide and oversee support to the sales team on client queries, operational matters or data requirements.
- Provide reporting to the PSG Life Board and Retirement Fund Trustees on platform related matters and ESG controls.
- Oversee product maintenance activities on our investment and wealth products, which will include providing technical input into the investment platform's client interfaces and reports.
- Support the delivery of accurate tools and calculators used by PSG Wealth and our distribution network advisors, including the maintenance of tools and investment tools e.g. Reg28 calculator, income tax.
- Manage the team providing platform fund maintenance, e.g. new and ongoing fund due diligence and tracking of performance and sales commitments.
- Participation in the Platform Product committee and reporting to stakeholders.
- Provide input for articles published in newsletters such as Platform Weeklies and Wealth Perspective articles
- Maintain control standards of all work performed by the team and inform business of developing or new risks
Minimum requirements
- University Degree majoring in either Investment Management, Insurance mathematics, Actuarial Science or Financial management.
- Demonstrable experience in managing small teams - minimum of 3 years' experience.
- Past experience in managing new product development or existing product reviews
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in working with and pricing LIFE, LISP and investment products
- Experience in both local and international Life and LISP Products
- Demonstrable experience with programming and modelling skills, specifically financial modelling
- Advanced level of computer literacy, especially SQL, Python, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and PowerBI.
- Experience with using Morningstar or similar reporting products
- Demonstrable experience in project management
- Experience in working within an adviser distribution channel environment
- Past actuarial experience with exam passes in A111, A211 and A212 would be advantageous
- Demonstrable experience in technical marketing or technical writing.
