Introduction

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for the development, contracting, and ongoing management of our destination product portfolio, ensuring we offer competitive, high-quality, and unique travel experiences. Working closely with local and international partners, the successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening supplier relationships, negotiating favourable rates, and ensuring our products remain aligned with our client expectations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build and strengthen long-term relationships with key suppliers and partners
  • Negotiate rates, favourable terms, tactical offers, and value-added inclusions
  • Travel for site inspections, supplier meetings, and trade events as required
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously refine tours and itineraries
  • Manage rate contracting and ensure accurate, timely updates across internal systems and platforms
  • Reporting of sales performance
  • Lead ongoing product training for teams
  • Coordinate site inspections
  • Assist with content for newsletters and pricing packages/sample itineraries
  • Support Finance with supplier agreements and pricing queries
  • Work closely with sales team
  • Ensure product accuracy, consistency, and quality across internal systems

Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes, and workflows

Qualifications and skills

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric)
  • Diploma in Contracting/Tourism (advantageous)
  • 5-7+ Years experience in product for an inbound DMC
  • In-depth knowledge of Southern & East Africa (with a focus on 4★ and 5★ offerings)
  • Office based position in Cape Town
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team and manage client relationships
  • Be a deadline driven individual who shows extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Computer literacy, with experience in booking systems, Tourplan (advantageous), WETU, and/or CRM software

Market related depending on experience
