Key Responsibilities
- Executes or coordinates activities to design new products, modify existing designs and support production activities relating to aftermarket products
- Manage all aspects of new product implementation, including customer communication for engineering activities, project management, bill of material and engineering drawings.
- Validation of product design by DV testing versus customer and internal engineering specifications
- Make use of computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks
- Initiating new business enquiries and costing bill of materials for quotation purposes during the feasibility study of any new changed product enquiry
- Problem solving using problem solving tools and data driven techniques such as DMAIC, 8D, RCA & 5-why
- Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products
- Maintains a working knowledge of company policies, technologies, design rules and procedures applicable to the engineering activities
- Maintains a working knowledge of safety and environmental policies and regulations to ensure duties are performed in a safe manner
- Support to Quality department through investigation and root cause determination of quality and warranty issues
