Our client is seeking a Product Development Engineer to join their team, based in Gqeberha.
Successful candidate will need to provide engineering support services to contribute to the achievement of operational targets, whilst striving for optimal availability and safety within own area of responsibility. Duties & Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements:-
- National Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ Years’ experience in Engineering within the Manufacturing environment of which 3 years should be at Supervisory level
- Advanced design skills using Autodesk Inventor
- Knowledge of Autodesk Vault, production processes, technical drawings, jigs and fixtures
- Experience in project scoping and costing
Key Responsibilities:-
- Design, develop and validate products, systems and mechanical components
- Interpret customer specifications and technical drawings
- Drive engineering projects from concept through to implementation
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, innovation and cost savings
- Conduct research, benchmarking and feasibility studies
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, standards and regulations
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve engineering challenges
