Start free — we apply for you →The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the procurement function to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of goods and services required by the business. The role drives strategic sourcing, supplier performance, cost optimization, inventory efficiency, risk management, and procurement governance while supporting operational excellence and business growth. The incumbent will work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, regulatory authorities, and Group Procurement teams to ensure uninterrupted supply, maximize value creation, improve service levels, and contribute to the achievement of organizational objectives. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives. Lead sourcing initiatives and supplier selection processes to achieve best value while maintaining required quality standards. Negotiate favorable commercial terms, pricing agreements, contracts, and service level agreements. Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and total cost of ownership (TCO) initiatives. Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and supply risks to support informed procurement decisions. Ensure the timely availability of materials, goods, and services in line with business requirements and production plans. 2. Supplier Relationship & Performance Management Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers. Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and performance reviews. Develop alternative sources of supply to improve competitiveness and reduce supply chain risk. Manage supplier performance against agreed KPIs relating to cost, quality, delivery, responsiveness, and compliance. Facilitate supplier development initiatives to improve service delivery and operational performance. 3. Inventory & Supply Assurance Collaborate with Planning, Production, and Warehousing teams to ensure material availability. Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete stock. Monitor supplier lead times and supply continuity risks. Ensure procurement activities support inventory optimization and working capital management objectives. Review existing stock levels before initiating purchases to avoid duplication and unnecessary inventory holding. 4. Imports, Logistics & Regulatory Compliance Oversee procurement-related import activities and ensure timely clearance of imported materials. Maintain strong relationships with customs authorities, shipping agents, transporters, and related stakeholders. Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import documentation requirements, duties, taxes, and bonded warehouse obligations. Monitor and manage procurement risks associated with transportation and international sourcing. Ensure appropriate insurance arrangements for goods in transit and storage. 5. Procurement Governance & Compliance Ensure full compliance with procurement policies, procedures, SOPs, and internal controls. Implement robust procurement controls to minimize financial, operational, and compliance risks. Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and documentation. Support internal and external audits and address audit findings within agreed timelines. Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. 6. Stakeholder Management Partner with Finance on budgeting, supplier payments, and Letters of Credit. Collaborate with Planning and Operations teams to understand current and future material requirements. Provide procurement insights and support strategic business initiatives. Work closely with Group Procurement and other business units to leverage synergies, standardize practices, and share best practices. Build strong relationships with internal customers to ensure high levels of service and satisfaction. 7. Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to achieve departmental objectives. Establish performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews. Identify training and development needs and implement succession planning initiatives. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer service excellence. Promote adherence to company values, safety standards, and ethical business practices.
